Black Friday coffee maker deals are always some of our favorites because making good coffee can be a pricey affair. That’s true whether you’re going the fancy espresso maker route or just want a really good drip coffee maker. And we watch prices all year and can say that some of the deals, that can run over 30% off, are very real and unlikely to stick around until next year. In fact, the best deals will probably sell out before the weekend is done.

Drip coffee machines
Fellow’s Aiden coffee maker is simply the best we’ve ever used (check here if you want to know why) and as the holiday shopping season kicks off the Aiden along with Fellow’s knockout burr grinder, coffee scale and coffee storage solution are all on sale together. This is your chance to get the best automatic coffee set up we could come up with. Also, Two of our other favorite drip coffee brewers are on sale: The Technivorm Moccamaster and the Café Specialty Coffee Maker. The Moccamaster is a classic we’ve been recommending for years, especially for households with lots of coffee drinkers, as it makes 10 cups at a time (just know that the Moccamaster is not a programmable coffee maker). The Café Specialty Coffee Maker is another drip coffee maker for pour-over people—or rather for coffee connoisseurs who are very particular about brew strength and temperature.

Espresso machine deals
Breville has been a longtime stand by for us in our espresso machine testing because they offer incredible consistency and are some of the easiest to use if you aren’t a hardcore espressohead. If you’re looking to step up from the beginner-friendly Breville Bambino Plus, the Breville Barista Express Impress is an excellent option—and it’s on sale right now. This machine has a built-in grinder and automates various espresso-making tasks like dosing and tamping, streamlining the process for those who want high-quality coffee without diving too deep into the technicalities. De’Longhi’s Specialista Arte Evo is another discounted espresso maker that does the same. If you do want to dive into the finer points of espresso brewing there are deals on prosumer (that’s “professional” + “consumer”) espresso makers from Rancilio Silvia and Seattle Coffee Gear’s Diletta machines, which are particularly affordable as high end machines go because they’re basically the retailer’s house brand.

French presses on sale
A French press is arguably the easiest and cheapest way to brew deeply flavored coffee without a machine (and you can use it for tea and cocktails too). Bodum’s classic French presses, which, if you are picturing a French press in your head right now, it’s probably a Bodum, are on sale. But so too are the even better (though somewhat more expensive) presses from Espro that feature the best filter operation we’ve ever seen.

“Occasional” coffee makers
Some coffee makers are meant to take up semi-permanent residence on your counter and others only make occasional, or seasonal appearances, as needed. The travel-friendly Aeropress and Nanopresso, as well as the OXO Cold Brew Coffee Maker fit into this category—but they’re so good at what they do you could use them every day too.

Nespresso machines
If you’re a house divided, or a person who wants the convenience of a pod coffee maker and the ability to make a great latte at home, consider something from Nespresso’s Vertuoline. These machines make a damn fine cup of coffee as well as consistently good espresso-style shots using centrifuge technology. The Nespresso Vertuo Plus is our favorite single-serve coffee maker, but there are plenty of models in the Vertuoline to fit a variety of needs. The Veruto Next can brew a full carafe of coffee from a single pod (and Nespresso sells a pretty glass carafe that fits perfectly under the spout, and the newer Breville Nespresso Vertuo Creatista resembles a “real” espresso machine, thanks to its steam wand and shiny stainless steel body. The latest machine, the Nespresso Vertuo Pop, is a more compact machine that resembles the Vertuo Next and right now there’s a cool matte black model on sale.

Coffee scales
If you are serious (or considering being serious) about making good coffee, one of the most important things you can do is get your coffee to water ratio correct. The best way to do that? Weigh your coffee beans. Depending on which one you have, a normal kitchen scale might work. But if you’re brewing espresso there will be real difference between brewing a single shot using 9 grams of coffee and 7.8 or 10.2 grams of coffee and your scale might not have that. So consider these awesome coffee scales, on sale now.

Other versatile coffee systems
As much as we love Nespresso machines, we’d be remiss to not include the versatile machines from Ninja and Instant brands. Ninja’s Dual Brew can brew a full pot of coffee or a single-serving of your own ground coffee in a reusable pod. This Ninja is also compatible with Keurig’s single-serve K-cup pods (we don’t like the coffee from K-cups, but you do you). While Instant’s Pot Pod won’t brew a full pot of coffee, it does allow you to use your own ground coffee in a reusable single-serve pod as well as Keurig’s K-Cup pods and Nespresso’s Original Line pods. This machine also allows you to choose your brew size and strength, and there’s even a button for iced coffee.
