Slit dress and stiletto heels, Brigitte Macron elegant for a new state dinner

Brigitte Macron, Rachida Dati and Isabelle Altmayer, the wife of Michel Barnier, gave each other the word on Thursday, November 28: all three wore a long black dress to go to the state dinner organized at the Élysée in honor of Bola Tinubu, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and his wife, Oluremi Tinubu. The First Lady opted for a knee-length slit dress, completed with stiletto heels, an imposing silver necklace and a discreet clutch. And if Brigitte Macron had opted for her usual bun, it was held by black barrettes contrasting with the blondness of her hair.

This dinner was the high point of Bola Tinubu's state visit to , a first in 24 years. A trip marked by three declarations of intent or partnership, and by the announcement of the upcoming establishment of a fifth Nigerian bank in , the United Bank of Africa. And beyond economic cooperation, Emmanuel Macron promised that “France would do everything possible to promote better inclusion of Nigeria in the various forums of global governance”, at the UN Security Council, at the Monetary Fund International (IMF) and the World Bank.

On the cultural level, a “Creation Africa Forum” intended to bring together and support French and African cultural actors will be held in the second half of 2025 in Lagos, the economic capital of Nigeria, after a first edition in Paris in 2023.

A meeting with Medef

This Friday, Bola Tinubu will continue his advocacy in favor of investments in his country during a forum with Medef, which brings together French employers. But he has already been able to interact with various major French bosses during the state dinner at the Élysée, such as Patrick Pouyanné, CEO of Total, Rodolphe Saadé of CMA CGM and Éric Trappier of Dassault Aviation.
