Notre-Dame de will reveal to the world on Friday its “brilliance” regained five years after the devastating fire of April 2019, thanks to a final site visit by Emmanuel Macron eight days before its reopening with great fanfare.

Emmanuel Macron is going to Notre-Dame de Paris this Friday morning. One week before the inauguration of the cathedral, the Head of State will make a final site visit. The opportunity, before the religious celebration of December 8, to give a speech inside the building.

“The impossible was made possible”

Emmanuel Macron intends to savor this moment. Failing to speak during the religious ceremony on Sunday, December 8, an idea that he toyed with for a moment, the Head of State will speak in the nave of the cathedral this Friday. Around him, nearly 2,000 people will be seated. 2,000 journeymen, carpenters, joiners, painters, artists who contributed to the success of this project and above all delivered the building on time.

“The deadlines were met. The impossible was made possible,” welcomes the Élysée. “Five years ago, everyone thought that the President's commitment would be difficult to keep. Proof has been made today that not only is it possible, but that everyone ardently desired it,” insists an advisor to the Palace. This will be Emmanuel Macron's message: to demonstrate that the French can be proud. A way of trying to capitalize on this success while political instability once again threatens the country.
