A heated altercation occurred Thursday, November 28 in the evening at the National Assembly between the MoDem deputy Nicolas Turquois and the LFI deputy Antoine Léaument, reports the franceinfo journalist present on site.

Antoine Léaument then spoke at the Assembly to declare towards the MoDem group: “Your colleague came to threaten me […] Fortunately Mr Fesneau [qui dirige le groupe MoDem à l’Assemblée] that you were there to detain the colleague from your group and that the bailiffs intervened, because otherwise I'm not sure if I wouldn't have gotten a bad start.”

MP Xavier Breton, from the Republican Right, who chairs the session, promises to discuss the incident between the two MPs at the next meeting of the Assembly office: “Following the incident which took place during the suspension of the session, I will suggest that Madam President discuss this incident at the next office meeting”he declares. “The MP in question will explain it when the time comes,” had previously assured Marc Fesneau, leader of the MoDem deputies.
