“I always felt very good here”: Jean Dujardin seen in Brussels alongside Manneken-Pis for a very special reason

Actor Jean Dujardin was in Brussels for a very special occasion this Thursday: he was awarded the Medal of Recognition from the City of Brussels. Manneken-Pis also received the Zorro costume for the event series of the same name, soon to be broadcast on RTL tvi and RTL play.

The Manneken-Pis dressed in a black cape, a mask and a hat, without forgetting his mythical sword: Zorro is honored in Brussels this Thursday, in the company of a distinguished guest: the actor Jean Dujardin, who plays him in the new series soon to be broadcast on RTL tvi & RTL play.

Before that, the actor was invited to a ceremony at Brussels City Hall, chaired by Mayor Philippe Close and Alderwoman of Culture, Delphine Houba. Jean Dujardin was awarded the Medal of Recognition from the City of Brussels. “We were touched that you accepted this little gift but above all it is a testimony to the love that the Belgians and the people of Brussels have for you.“, justified Philippe Close.

It must be said that Jean Dujardin has a very special link with our capital. “I have always felt very good here,” he reveals to us. “The northern public is warm, the Brussels public is just as warm. I felt very comfortably installed here and for a very long time. This is confirmed from day to day, from week to week, from film to film. It’s a kind of refuge“. The actor often comes to Belgium for filming, the last one having taken place in Vilvoorde, but he tells us not to miss a single chance to come: “I never refuse a single promotion in Belgium, because it’s part of the journey. I have friends here, I know there will be as much fun as work“.

Jean Dujardin even has his very specific habits when he comes to us. He doesn’t hesitate for a moment: “Geographically, it is very, very clear. I’m going to sleep at the Amigo (a hotel near the Grand-Place), I go with my friend Marco on the cobblestones, we cross the Galerie de la Reine, we arrive at the Marmiton, we eat there, we sees friends… it can last late. We can laugh a lot and I walk home, a little exhilarated and happy. I even lie down on the Grand-Place when the weather is very nice.“.

The event series Zorro, co-produced by RTL, will be broadcast from Wednesday December 4 at 8:30 p.m. on RTL tvi and in RTL play streaming.
