The man who knocked down Yannick Alléno's son was sentenced to seven years in prison on Thursday, November 28. Antoine Regley, road law lawyer, guest of Autrement dit, discusses this sentence.

A seven-year prison sentence was handed down on Thursday, November 28, against the man who fatally knocked down Antoine Alléno, the son of chef Yannick Alléno. “It’s severe in itself, but it can be explained (…) by a whole bunch of aggravating circumstances”indicates Antoine Regley, lawyer in road law, guest of Autrement dit, Thursday. Among these circumstances are the driver's flight and his consumption of alcohol. “We have a defendant who already had six entries in his criminal record”he adds.

With this verdict, justice wants to send a message of firmness. “I do not think that this sentence, nor this file, is indicative of what is happening in the courts (…) where sentences are generally much lower”explains the road law lawyer. Chef Yannick Alléno publicized his personal drama. “In a publicized case, justice sometimes sends messages”concludes Antoine Regley.
