Demonstration: retirees want “an increase in pensions on January 1, 2025 in line with inflation”

“After deciding not to increase pensions, the government proposed an increase of 0.8% on January 1, 2025 for all pensions, and of 0.8% on July 1, 2025 for small pensions. This is largely insufficient”. Thus, 9 trade union organizations (CGT, FSU, FGR and LSR) are calling for a demonstration on Tuesday December 3 at 10:30 a.m. from Place de Verdun, as part of a national day of action.

“We demand from the government that it cancels this measure and that it revalues ​​pensions on January 1, 2025 in line with inflation initially and that it opens negotiations to make up for the losses suffered. We demand an increase of 10% to compensate for the loss of purchasing power since 2017″ protest Catherine Gourbier (Snes/FSU), Martine Fauchéstato (FSU/FGR) and Pierre Lecourt (CGT retirees).

“The government and the executive power in general convey the idea that retirees are wealthy, unproductive people who take advantage of the system. However, he has contributed a lifetime so that his predecessors can enjoy retirement. It is unhealthy to “contrast the age groups against each other, especially since the retiree plays a pivotal role in society by helping the oldest as well as the youngest, not to mention his commitment to volunteering in society”.
