A cold front brings a rain chance and a cool down ahead for NWFL

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – Good Thursday Morning everyone and Happy Thanksgiving! I’m thankful for all of you who come to this weekday weather blog for your forecast.

It’s a mostly to partly cloudy morning after we had an early passing shower. That’s not the only rain chance we’ll have over the next 24hrs. But most of our day will wind up mostly to partly cloudy rather than rainy.

Our next rain chance arrives around lunch for another quick downpour. Any rain you see today will only last for about 30min max and lead toward a couple tenths of an inch of rain.

Another batch of rain awaits us for Friday morning with colder conditions! It’s associated with a cold front moving into the Southeast. But we won’t cool off right away today. It’ll be a gradual cool down that we feel tonight. Yet, by tomorrow morning upper 40s inland to low 50s on the coast await us at sunrise.

Friday morning’s rain wraps up by mid-morning on the Forgotten Coast of Gulf and Franklin Counties. They’ll see the bulk of the rain for tomorrow morning which could be a quarter to half inch of rain before it wraps up.

Skies clear up across the Panhandle by lunch with sunshine opening up into the afternoon. However, it’ll be cold sunshine as we struggle to reach 60 this afternoon.

We’ll be well on our way to the chillier side of average through the weekend with sunshine as well. Mornings get started in the 30s and afternoon highs only reach 60 on Saturday to the low 60s on Sunday.
