By controlling their match very well, Lille offers themselves a deserved victory (2-1) in Bologna and can look forward to the rest with serenity. With once again profitable choices from Genesio who has the grinta in this competition. For Bologna, the adventure is near the end.
Stay on good momentum and get closer to qualification. It is with these two objectives that Lille traveled to Bologna (ITA). Indeed, Lille remained on a series of eleven matches without defeat, in all competitions. Facing them, Italians who are having a lot of difficulty at the start of the season, whether in the league but also in the Champions League with only a small point on the clock and no goals scored in four matches. As is often the case, Bruno Genesio had chosen to rotate his squad with the benching of Zhegrova and Cabella in particular. The start of the match was quite balanced and Bologna thought they would finally score their first goal thanks to Dallinga but the former Toulouse player was finally offside (6th). Hope quickly faded for the Italians who then largely abused the long game to try to take the Lille block from behind, without success. As this first period progressed, the Mastiffs gained momentum and if Alexsandro was very close to opening the scoring but his header from a corner from Fernandez-Pardo ended up on the post (13th) it took the very end of this first act for Lille to open the scoring. On an unfortunate clearance by the Italians, David recovered the ball and served perfectly behind, Mukau who scored in two stages (0-1, 44th). Once again, Genesio had flair in starting the Congolese. Five minutes earlier, Fernandez-Pardo was very close to scoring but he was impaled on the Bolognese goalkeeper (40th). Not very dangerous, Bologna therefore had to resign themselves to returning to the locker room with a goal behind against ultra-realistic Lille: 1 shot, 1 goal.
Mukau scores a double
Returning from the locker room, Bologna tried to push to quickly get back into the lead. However, Lille did not tremble and seemed to calmly manage its one-goal lead. Dallinga, however, forced Lucas Chevalier to make a good save (59th). An alert which perhaps announced the equalization of Lucumi who perfectly took a free kick hit at the near post (1-1.64th). Hard blow for Lille who already saw themselves with three points in their pocket. It was therefore the moment for Mukau to score a nice double. Once again on the reception of a back cross taken with the flat of the foot (1-2, 67th). A second Lille goal which did a lot of harm to the Italians who had to resolve to lose this match which seemed like the last hope of qualification for the rest of the competition. Lille could enjoy their evening but could have easily added to the bill knowing that the goal average will be very important in this new formula. Fernandez-Pardo, Sahraoui and David failed to score the third. With this victory, Lille continues its good run before facing Sturm Graz. For Bologna, on the other hand, things are getting complicated but there is still a little hope for the Italians who have at least scored their first goal.
