PSG: Marquinhos reveals the culprit

PSG captain Marquinhos has criticized the referee for the painful 1-0 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Saint-Germain captain Marquinhos criticized the referees' decision-making during the 1-0 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League group stage on Tuesday. The Ligue 1 heavyweights now face being eliminated from the all-new Champions League format, if they fail to achieve favorable results in their remaining matches.

Bayern Munich central defender Kim Min-jae opened the scoring for the hosts in the 38th minute from a Joshua Kimmich corner, immediately after Ousmane Dembélé received a yellow card for protest. Marquinhos was quick to blame the referees for his side's third Champions League defeat this season in the post-match press conference. “In the case of the goal, I asked the referee what was happening because a player was blocking the goalkeeper. He wasn't interested in the ball, the goalkeeper can't do anything in these situations. We tried to recover the ball, but we didn't succeed. Last year we were embarrassed by the referee in Dortmund, this year it happened again. We don't like to talk about the referee, but every questionable situation was in Bayern's favor“, Marquinhos told Canal+ after the match.

Even if they seem to be struggling on the continental level, PSG are the team to beat in Ligue 1 this season. He will aim to extend his invincibility and his six-point lead in the French first division this weekend, by hosting .
