LThe Odoo company, valued at 5 billion euros and employing 2,800 people, is offering an entry bonus of 10,000 euros to attract new developers. This is what the founder of the company, Fabien Pinckaers, declared on RTL-tvi this Wednesday.
The billionaire explains that Odoo has difficulty finding developers: “We recruit several hundred (…) And we are not the only ones, there are a lot of companies recruiting, So there are a real problem of supply and demand.”
For Fabien Pinckaers, integrating computer courses into the school curriculum would help create vocations. “We do math, French, science, and then when it comes to going to university and choosing what we do, we’re going to choose from what we know. So I know if I like math, I know if I like science, I know if I like French, I don’t know computer science. And so no one does this kind of study,” he laments. It also recalls the importance of the developer profession in the largest companies in the world.
