This is the crisis Sporting Club de Bastia. While waiting to know, this evening, the possible sanctions from the disciplinary committee after the incidents in the South stand this Saturday November 24 upon receipt of FC Lorient (0-0), the club presented itself this afternoon before the DNCGthe financial policeman of French Football.
While the last few years had been rather calm on the financial side, it seems that the reduction in TV rights had a strong impact on the finances of the club which, upon the presentation of its mid-season budget, was sanctioned by the financial authority.
Sporting remains calm
In fact, the Bastia club was therefore required to “control of the payroll and a ban on recruiting for payment”while being “demoted, as a precautionary measure, at the end of the current sporting season”according to the DNCG press release visible on the Professional Football League website.
The SCB therefore has six months left to adjust the accounts and avoid administrative demotion. But the club reacted immediately via a press release, saying “calm and confident about its ability to provide the required guarantees” while wishing to reassure the supporters.
Sporting also announced that additional details will be provided this Thursday, November 28.
