Bayern-PSG: banners against Nasser Al-Khelaïfi in the stands in Munich

PSG and the economic model of its shareholder are often targeted in Germany. And this was confirmed again on Tuesday evening. The president of the Parisian club, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, was targeted by several banners during the Champions League match between Bayern Munich and PSG (1-0) in Bavaria. Invectives came out in the ranks of the German club's supporters.

“Minister, club owner, rights holder, ex-member of the UEFA ComEx and on the board of directors of the ECA (the European club association) at the same time? “, we could read in the aisles of the Allianz Arena, or even: “ is me? Fuck you, Nasser the plutocrat (a person who uses his wealth to lead politically).”

A portrait of the Qatari leader, present at the match, crossed out with a red line, was also displayed by supporters of the Bavarian club, which dominated in the C1 final in 2020. Last season, a caricature of Nasser Al-Khelaïfi had been released at the Dortmund stadium, in a Champions League match against Newcastle. The president of PSG rubbed shoulders with Gianni Infantino, president of Fifa, and Andrea Agnelli, president of Juventus and activist for the creation of a European Super League.

Bavarian leaders have repeatedly criticized Qatar's investments in Paris Saint-Germain, accusing the Gulf state of distorting competition in European football. PSG, with four points in five Champions League matches this season, is 26th in the single group and virtually eliminated. Bayern, eleventh, is currently blocking.
