Inter Milan goalkeeper Yann Sommer feels that it’s the team that deserves credit after he kept his 101st career clean sheet against RB Leipzig.
The 36-year-old reacted to yet another Champions League match without conceding a goal speaking to InterTV, via FCInterNews.
Inter have now gone five matches in the Champions League without conceding a goal.
The Nerazzurri had managed to keep all of Manchester City, Red Star Belgrade, Young Boys, and Arsenal off the scoresheet prior to this evening.
And in their fifth match of the season in the Champions League, they have done the same to RB Leipzig.
Inter keeper Yann Sommer produced one excellent save in the second half to preserve that clean sheet.
But otherwise, it was Inter;s defending as a unit that left Leipzig unable to break through,

Inter goalkeeper Sommer said that “In the end this is a hugely important win for us.”
“In the second half they caused us some problems. But we always stayed compact, and had great energy.”
“We defended well and only allowed one shot on target,” Sommer noted.
“We should have scored the second goal, and that would have calmed us down,” he admitted. “But these are three important points.”
“In the Champions League it’s important to give attention to even the smallest details,” Sommer noted.
“We’re always very focused. And we’ve yet to concede a goal, even against tough opponents like today.”
“Now we have to keep this going for the next matches, starting against Fiorentina.”
And Sommer also commented on reaching clean sheet number 101 in his career.
“It’s beautiful,” the former Bayern Munich and Borussia Monchengladbach keeper said. “But it’s to the credit of the team.”
“It’s a beautiful thing for a keeper, 101 is a good number. But I hope there are plenty more to come.”
