Montauban. Big action by farmers, dozens of tractors mobilized in the city center

“Never seen before”, in the words of the FDSEA of Tarn-et-Garonne. The mobilization of farmers was massive in Montauban on Tuesday November 26, 2024. A mobilization organized at the call of the FDSEA and the Young Farmers of the department.

Nearly 500 farmers on site

The Tarn-et-Garonne prefecture announces 150 tractors when the FDSEA 82 claims 200 tractors and tippers mobilized. Nearly 500 farmers were present according to union figures.

A departmental operational center had been deployed in the prefecture, from 5 p.m. 180 members of the police were also mobilized.

“Dumpster Festival”

For their part, the farmers had decided to organize a “bin festival”, in a demonstration to the sound of sirens. The contents of the tractor skips were dumped in front of the Tarn-et-Garonne prefecture.
