The candidate supported by the outgoing mayor believes that the ZTL set up at the beginning of November must be extended to all of Paris, so that the city is no longer crossed by vehicles only in transit.
A program in continuation of Anne Hidalgo's policy. The day after the announcement by the outgoing mayor of Paris not to run again in the 2026 municipal elections, her favorite to succeed her, Rémi Féraud, is already discussing the measures he intends to take for the city of Paris.
In an interview with our colleagues from Le Parisien, he explains his ambition to “transform all districts of Paris into limited traffic zones”. A measure already in place since the beginning of November in the very center of the capital, and which is far from unanimously supported by local residents and traders.
A project that will “certainly take ten years”
The candidate believes that “we should no longer drive across the city if we don’t have to go there”. A project that will “certainly take ten years” and that it is therefore “the time to start”, he believes.
Rémi Féraud also recalls that future projects still include “a ring road to be transformed into an urban boulevard” and “making all of Paris a garden city”.
Responding to criticism that he is the “heir” of Anne Hidalgo, Rémi Féraud assures that “it is not a question of inheritance” but rather of “transmission”.
He explains that he wants to bring together the left-wing municipal majority and affirms that he is not “in a logic of confrontation” against the also socialist candidate Emmanuel Grégoire, former first deputy of Anne Hidalgo.
