The criticism directed at Real Madrid’s Italian coach, Carlo Ancelotti, sparked a revolt before facing Liverpool.
Real Madrid will be a guest of Liverpool, in the fifth round of the Champions League stage, in a fateful match for the defending Spanish champion, who was defeated in his last match in the tournament at home to AC Milan 1-3.
While, on the other hand, Liverpool is progressing steadily in the tournament, achieving 4 victories in 4 matches, achieving the full mark and topping the standings alone by two points ahead of its closest pursuers.
Carlo Ancelotti received a lot of criticism during the press conference for the match between Liverpool and Real Madrid, and he was accused of causing injuries to his players because he did not adopt the principle of rotation and resting the players due to the pressure of the matches, as happened with his Brazilian striker Vinicius Junior, who was injured before the upcoming match.
The Italian coach responded angrily to those who asked him to rotate and change players in order to avoid injuries, saying, “I hear a lot of advice, but I managed 1,300 matches and made 4,000 changes, so I don’t think anyone can give me advice in this regard.”
Ancelotti stressed that what is important is not the date of the injury, but rather the fact that the player is actually injured, and he responded to the doubters, saying: “The player sometimes gets injured due to the pressure of matches… We also suffered 7 injuries to the cruciate ligament… It is really difficult to avoid that, but it is not a problem for Real Madrid alone. “It’s a general problem.”
He continued: “We must bear this and try to think, like last year, how injuries are an opportunity for improvement. It is not a coincidence that the injuries that occurred in the past weeks led to a change in plans.”
The injury occurred to Vinicius in the match between Real Madrid and Leganés in the Spanish League, which he completed until the end, before it was announced the next day that he was injured in the biceps femoris muscle of the left foot, and was absent for about 3 weeks.
