King Mohammed VI: The situation in the Palestinian territories requires decisive intervention

His Majesty King Mohammed VI stressed that the tragic situation in the Palestinian territories, especially in the Gaza Strip, and the regional and international challenges it poses question the global conscience and require decisive intervention, for an immediate, comprehensive and sustainable ceasefire.

In a message to the Chairman of the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, Mr. Sheikh Niang, on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, which falls this year on November 26, His Majesty highlighted that more joint collective action is required to support and protect human rights. in the Palestinian territories, implementing relevant UN resolutions, and fully respecting the requirements of international law and international humanitarian law.

After His Majesty the King indicated that commemorating this day comes in light of the unfortunate confrontations that the region has witnessed for more than a year, and the continuation of the Israeli military invasion of the Gaza Strip, His Majesty considered that the matter requires “urgent and immediate action from the entire world to stop the war, and oblige Israel to lift the siege on Gaza Strip, and allowing the return of the displaced and the displaced, in the hope of launching the process of rebuilding what was destroyed by this war.”

In light of the impasse that the peace process in the Middle East has reached, under these difficult circumstances, His Majesty renewed the call on the international community, especially the influential and influential countries in the conflict, to “launch intensive diplomatic efforts with a new and effective dynamism, to bring all concerned parties back to the negotiating table, in The horizon of reaching a comprehensive and just settlement of the Palestinian issue, and building a common future for the coming Palestinian and Israeli generations, within the framework of the two-state solution.”

His Majesty the King added that in light of the dangerous and unprecedented field developments in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, Morocco expresses “its deep concern about the tragic conditions resulting from the continued Israeli invasion of the Strip.”

His Majesty explained that this invasion “has so far claimed the lives of tens of thousands of innocent and defenseless civilians dead and wounded, depriving millions of Palestinian citizens of their basic rights to housing, lunch, health, clean water, education and security, as well as pushing them towards displacement and migration, due to the massive and comprehensive destruction that has occurred.” Damage to the infrastructure of this area.”

His Majesty the King concluded that “holding the committee meeting constitutes an opportunity to value and encourage all national reconciliation initiatives between the Palestinian brothers, in a way that serves their noble project of establishing their independent state.”
