Valeria Golino: «Scamarcio? I thought he was the man of my life”

The actress and director guest of Francesca Fagnani’s program in the episode broadcast on Rai2 on Tuesday 26 November.

Love, pain and the passing of time: these are the topics at the center of Valeria Golino’s interview with Belve.

Golino did not shy away from Francesca Fagnani’s many questions, except for one. “Excluding your current partner, who was the most important love of your life?” asked the journalist.

“I’m afraid I would lie, so I won’t answer you,” was his sincere response. “Why does it bother you to say a name?” insisted Fagnani. “Exact. Out of a kind of affinity and sympathy with her I’m telling her a lot of true things in this interview, I don’t want to tell her a lie now and therefore I prefer not to answer”, explained Golino.

On the painful end of her relationship with Riccardo Scamarcio, the actress and director admitted: “I thought he was the man of my life.” And when Fagnani reminded her of Scamarcio’s words – “with Golino, true love never ends” – she commented: “He’s a very good actor”, but then added “it’s a nice thing to say, I thank him” .

Fagnani then asked her what the worst day of her life was. «The day my dad died» and «when I lost a child. One of the worst things I felt both physically and spiritually.”

Valeria Golino also admitted to Belve: «I have tried many drugs, but never twice in a row. I haven’t tried the stupid drugs, the dangerous ones. Psychedelic drugs yes, because those are not stupid drugs. I find them very interesting, but now at my age I wouldn’t do it anymore.”
