Undefeated after four days of the Champions League, Brest logically lost this Tuesday at Barça with a clear score of 3-0. Robert Lewandowski scored his 100th and 101st goals in C1 on this occasion.
From the start of the match, Barça demonstrated total control, including several opportunities, notably coming from Koundé on the right side. The Catalans, dominating, were quickly rewarded with a penalty (10th). Following a failed aerial exit from Bizot, Lewandowski converted the penalty kick and scored his 100th goal in C1. Facing a controlled Barcelona team, Brest chased the ball a lot and conceded several chances. Despite the opposing superiority, the Bretons did well and returned to the locker room with only one goal conceded.
Barcelona too strong for Brest
In the second half, the Brestois showed themselves to be much more enterprising, but the Catalans continued their strong domination and confirmed their superiority, like a second achievement by Olmo (66th). The Spanish international gets the better of Chardonnet before shooting from close range. Bizot can't do anything. The Catalans take the break and completely control the rest of the match, until the final whistle and the conclusion of Lewandowski who scores a double in added time (90th + 2). Hansi Flick's players therefore put an end to Brest's unbeaten run in the Champions League this season.
Following this more than deserved success, FC Barcelona climbed to second place in the Champions League, while Stade Brestois fell to ninth position. This weekend, in the league, Barça will face Las Palmas. For its part, Brest will host Strasbourg.
