BrandEd is pleased to announce the launch of the ‘Manchester City Sports Business School’ (MCSBS).
In collaboration with Manchester City, the new venture builds on the foundations set by the City Football Leadership Institute (CFLI), originally launched in 2022, and continues to signal the lasting commitment to offering world-leading industry-based education.
With Manchester City Sports Business School, BrandEd and Manchester City aim to provide students with exclusive access to a global sports business ecosystem, combining BrandEd’s educational expertise with Manchester City’s deep industry knowledge.
As part of this, the Sports Business School will offer a range of innovative programmes, designed to cater for aspiring professionals that are eager to break in to, or progress within, the sport industry.
Students will learn from experts within the industry itself, through bespoke sessions and programmes that are tailored to the evolving sporting landscape. This includes the flagship ‘Next Gen Man City’ programme, a residential summer programme for 14–17-year-olds, which will return to Manchester in Summer 2025, this time under the Manchester City Business School umbrella, as well as the introduction of the ‘Manchester City Summer Collegiate’, with further programs to come.
Since its inception, ‘Next Gen Man City’ has welcomed students from 21 countries across five continents.
The newly structured programme’s return in 2025 will also feature three new modules, giving students the chance to delve deeper into specific areas of sports business:
- Athlete Management and Development
- Marketing and Business
- Media and Content Creation
Additionally, MCSBS is introducing a new programme designed for university students: ‘Manchester City Summer Collegiate’. This summer experience will explore the business of football in greater depth, focusing on four key modules:
- Governance and Finance
- Commercial Operations
- Marketing and Community Engagement
- Media and Broadcasting
