Laimer and Sané move into the starting eleven
Bayern coach Vincent Kompany is making two changes to his starting eleven against the French champions. Compared to Munich’s Bundesliga game against FC Augsburg (3-0) last Friday, the Belgian is relying on Konrad Laimer on the right in defense instead of Raphael Guerreiro, and Leroy Sané is also replacing Michael Olise on the right wing.
A win is essential for both top clubs in order not to fall further behind in the league phase of the Champions League. Direct qualification for the round of 16 – at least eighth place – is already a long way away. The ambitious French are only 25th in the table with just four points after four games.
