Patrick Bruel explains why a Michel Sardou concert changed his life

This Tuesday, November 26, Patrick Bruel was Anne-Élisabeth Lemoine's guest on her show C to you broadcast on 5. The opportunity for him to return to the concert of a famous French artist which he attended somewhat by chance and which changed his life.

Patrick Bruel was on the set of C to you on France 5 to talk about his busy news. As he prepares to close his tour, the reissue of his cult album So look which celebrates its 35th anniversary will be released on December 20. Finally, since October 7 – the date on which Israel was attacked by Hamas – he has been singing the title The empty chairs. “For this sad anniversary, I believe that there is no need to belong to a religion, to a community, to a country to understand the pain that an empty chair at a table can represent. That's why, in my opinion, people stand up, people receive this song for what it evokes, of course“, he confided, reviewing images of his concerts where he is in communion with his fans during the interpretation of this title which he then sang live on Anne-Élisabeth Lemoine's show.

C to you : Patrick Bruel moved by seeing images of a concert that changed his life

With Pierre Lescure, Patrick Bruel agreed to return to this concert which made him want to pursue a career in music. It was in January 1975. He had attended, somewhat by chance, the concert of a famous French singer at the Olympia, namely Michel Sardou. “I was not in this musical universe and I find myself with this place… I found myself in the last row, I saw this spectacle, then I saw charisma, strength, tenderness. I was moved by this song called 'The girl with the light eyes' which he had just created for his mother, among others (…) Magnificent texts, a strong, solid interpretation and something which could provoke a form of authentication and then the voice… I really liked singing with this voice, I discovered a power within me (…) It's quite moving to see that, especially when he talks about his first Olympia“, he reacted when reviewing images of this moment.
