“The Royal Army is more prepared, and we hope it regains its style.”

The former coach of the Royal Army Club, Brazilian Jorvan Vieira, expressed his opinion on the confrontation expected today, Tuesday, between Raja Athletic Club and the Royal Army in the first round of the group stage in the African Champions League.

The Brazilian, Jorvan Vieira, who worked with many Moroccan clubs, including the Royal Army, Wydad Athletic Club, Ittihad Casablanca, and Ittihad Tangier, believes that the leader is more prepared than the Eagles in the match that takes place at eight in the evening on the grounds of the Larbi Zaouli stadium.

In his interview with Set Info Sport, Vieira expressed his regret that two Moroccan teams were in a direct confrontation, noting that this reduces Morocco’s chances of progressing to the final stages of the competition.

He added: “It is unfortunate that Raja and the Royal Army meet at this stage of the competition. “This type of match is always difficult.”

The Brazilian coach spoke about the nature of the confrontation between the two teams, describing it as a “big classic” that brings together Casablanca and Rabat. He said: “I lived many matches with and against Raja, with the Royal Army. This confrontation attracts thousands of fans to the stadiums, and millions of followers on television. “It is a match full of passion and excitement.”

Regarding the performance of the two teams, Vieira believes that Raja Athletic Club is still searching for its technical stability, especially after the appointment of a new coach who has not yet achieved clear positive results. He said: “Raja has not achieved any victory yet, as its matches ended in draws only.” As for the Royal Army, although it also changed its coach, it made better use of the time to adapt.”

He pointed out that the Royal Army has a slight advantage, especially on the physical level and speed, as he said: “If we talk about physical strength and speed, the Army is superior to Raja. The Army team has always relied on these factors in addition to the technical skills of its players.”
