15,000 linear euros is now due. That is the money that a person who establishes a job or creates self-employment to work in any of the 206 municipalities that have been included in the Territorial Development Program for Tierra de Campos 2024-2031, distributed among the provinces of Palencia, León, Valladolid or Zamora.
This has been promoted today by the Foundation for Business Anchoring and Training for Employment in Castilla y León (Fafecyl), dependent on the Government of Castilla y León, which announces through its publication in the Official Gazette of Castilla y León (BOCyL ) the launch of this line of financial aid of 15,000 euros aimed at entrepreneurs who decide to establish themselves in this large region of Tierra de Campos. This is the first line that is launched within the plan that seeks to promote economic development and stop depopulation in this large and also controversial rural region shared by the four provinces of both Castilla and the Leonese Region.
Requirements and deadlines of the call
The deadline to submit applications begins on November 27, 2024, that is, one day after the publication of the extract in the BOCyL, and will extend without interruption until September 17, 2025, with almost ten months of opening.
The Foundation, which depends on the Department of Industry, Commerce and Employment of the Board, has determined that natural persons, including those who are part of entities without legal personality, who register as self-employed in the Special Regime for Self-Employed Workers (RETA) or in the Mutual Fund of a professional association. They must also meet the requirement that they begin an economic labor activity established in any of the 206 municipalities between November 1, 2024 and August 31, 2025, both inclusive.
The measure is framed in the context of the Plan that seeks to revive Tierra de Campos, promoted by the Junta de Castilla y León and in which the four provincial councils also participate, with a planned joint allocation of 63.19 million until the year 2031 and which was finally approved last week by the Government of Castilla y León.
This plan seeks to encourage the economic and social revitalization of one of the regions most affected by depopulation, offering tax benefits and direct aid to attract both companies and the self-employed, and promoting other sectors, from housing to culture. Tierra de Campos, known for its historical heritage and agricultural wealth, has suffered a constant loss of population for decades. In response, the Board has focused its efforts on stopping rural exodus through specific measures such as this aid, although not without controversy.
