The proposed law from La insoumise aimed at removing from the Penal Code the offense of apologizing for terrorism would make it possible to put this offense back into the Code of Press Law and above all would make it possible to defend Hamas without incurring real penalties, which would help perhaps the affairs of the Insoumis.

Is this a real bill or a new provocation? La France insoumise has tabled a bill aimed at removing the offense of advocating terrorism from the Penal Code, which has sparked heated controversy. This suppression will, according to them, put an end to the political exploitation of this offense, but would also allow Hamas to be defended with complete impunity. If La France insoumise wants to suppress this offense, it is above all to defend its personal interests.

Three LFI deputies targeted by investigations for advocating terrorism

Jean-Luc Mélenchon's movement is regularly accused of advocating terrorism, particularly for its complacency towards Hamas. Three rebellious deputies are even currently being investigated for advocating terrorism because of their comments on the October 7 pogrom.

The president of the LFI deputies Mathilde Panot was recently summoned by the police for having justified “the armed offensive launched from Gaza”. Just like rebellious MEP Rima Hassan who described Hamas' actions as “legitimate”.

The deputy and S Raphaël Arnault risks being condemned for having welcomed the Palestinian resistance against Israel. Same reason, same punishment for the former presidential candidate, Philippe Poutou, very close to the Insoumis. Removing the offense of glorifying terrorism would therefore allow La France insoumise to go even further in provocation, without any legal action.
