“If they kill me, I will pull my arms out of the grave and I will be stronger.” With this phrase, the Dominican activist Minerva Mirabal responded to the threats of the dictator Rafael Trujillo. Together with her sisters Patria and María Teresa, known as 'Las Mariposas', her murder in the 60s impacted society and gave rise to 25N, Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
