Baar: Self-disclosure in the civil registry office – Zug public prosecutor’s office is investigating

Irregularities have occurred in the Baar district registry office that now have consequences. An employee reported himself. The public prosecutor’s office in the canton of Zug has now started the investigation.

In addition, the government council decided on Friday to take over the office’s duties on a temporary basis. This means that operations will initially be ensured by the Civil Status and Civil Rights Service of the Interior Directorate.

In addition to the voluntary disclosure, staff shortages also led to this step. What exactly happened was not disclosed in order to protect privacy.

The Baar District Civil Registry Office is responsible for the communities of Baar, Menzingen and Neuheim. According to authorities, there are no restrictions on services for the population.

It remains unclear whether these are administrative errors, violations of legal requirements or even criminally relevant events. However, the employees’ self-report and the investigations by the public prosecutor’s office suggest that the incidents should be taken seriously.
