Mild start this week, Thanksgiving rain, then a blast of cold

WITH A CHECK OF YOUR FIRST WARNING WEATHER. ALL RIGHT. GOOD MORNING EVERYBODY. WE ARE STARTING OFF ON THE PARTLY CLOUDY SIDE FOR US TODAY. AND ACTUALLY IT DOESN’T FEEL TOO BAD OUTSIDE. WE’RE ABOUT TEN DEGREES WARMER THAN YESTERDAY MORNING. START SO MILD. START TO YOUR MONDAY AND ACTUALLY MILD FOR THE WEEK. HERE’S WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE AS YOU’RE HEADING OUT THE DOOR. MAYBE YOU’RE OFF WORK TODAY, SO MAYBE YOU’RE WALKING YOUR DOG. 60S FOR YOU. AND THEN EVENTUALLY WE’LL BE INTO THE 70S A LITTLE BIT LATER ON FOR THE MORNING, BUT NOT EXPECTING TO SEE ANY RAIN. LET’S CHECK OUT VISIBILITY FOR US. LOTS OF IMPROVEMENT HAPPENING STILL. MAYBE SOME ISSUES OUT TOWARDS HAMMOND. ALSO BELLE CHASSE THIS MORNING, BUT EVERYBODY ELSE THOUGH IT’S LOOKING A WHOLE LOT BETTER. YOUR TEMPERATURES THOUGH, AS YOU DO WAKE UP 50S, NORTH SHORE 60, SOUTH SHORE COUPLE OF 50S THOUGH IN THE SOUTH SHORE AS WELL. BUT EVENTUALLY WE’RE ALL GOING TO FEEL THE HEAT INTO THE UPPER 70S AND THE LOW 80S PROBABLY SEE A FEW MORE 80S. THAT’S POSSIBLE FOR US. SO YES, WELL ABOVE AGAIN FOR THIS TIME OF THE YEAR, LOW TEMPERATURES FOR TONIGHT GOING TO BE MILD, ACTUALLY, RIGHT AROUND WHERE WE’RE SITTING RIGHT NOW. SO HOW IT FEELS NOW BASICALLY HOW TO FEEL THIS TIME TONIGHT AND THEN LOOKING AT THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS FOR US, WE’RE STAYING DRY. BUT GETTING INTO TUESDAY VERY EARLY TUESDAY MORNING. SO BASICALLY OVERNIGHT NIGHT INTO EARLY TOMORROW MORNING, WE’LL HAVE A FRONT THAT MOVES THROUGH WITH THAT FRONT, WE’LL SEE A FEW SHOWERS THAT WILL BE POSSIBLE FOR TOMORROW MORNING. THEN THAT QUICKLY CLEARS OUT. AND THEN WE ARE DRY ONCE AGAIN. DRY FOR THE REST OF YOUR TUESDAY. MOSTLY WEDNESDAY AS WELL, BUT GETTING INTO THURSDAY, WE HAVE A SECOND FRONT THAT’S TRYING TO PUSH THROUGH. THAT ONE DOES. AND AS IT DOES, THIS IS THANKSGIVING. WE’RE GOING TO SEE SOME SHOWERS ALONG WITH IT. SO SHOWERS PUSHING THROUGH FOR YOUR THURSDAY LIKELY GOING TO BE LATE MORNING INTO THE AFTERNOON. AND THE EVENING. COLD WEATHER OFF BEHIND IT. SO THAT WILL BE THE MAIN THING THAT YOU’LL FEEL AFTERWARDS. SO BY THE TIME WE GET TO THURSDAY EVENING, IT’S GOING TO BE WINDY AND YOU’RE GOING TO FEEL THAT COLD AIR STARTING TO MOVE IN. HERE’S YOUR THANKSGIVING FORECAST, THOUGH. OVERCAST SKIES FOR THE FIRST HALF OF THE DAY, AND THEN WE WILL GET THOSE CHANCES FOR RAIN. BUT YOUR TEMPERATURES ARE GOING TO GO DOWN. SO ACROSS THE NATION THOUGH MAYBE YOU’RE TRAVELING. HERE’S WHAT’S HAPPENING RIGHT NOW JUST TO OUR WEST. STILL LOOKING AT A LOT OF RAIN. EVEN SOME SNOW OUT TOWARDS DENVER GOING TO BE LOOKING AT SOME SNOW AS WELL. THAT WILL BE ON TUESDAY FOR WEDNESDAY UP NORTH DIRECTLY TO THE NORTH OF US TALKING ABOUT CHICAGO, LOOKING AT SOME RAIN, SNOW POSSIBILITY. AND THEN AS YOU GET TOWARDS THE END OF THE WEEK, A LOT OF THAT WILL PUSH ACROSS TO THE NORTHEAST AND EVEN OFF TO THE EAST. THEY ARE DEALING WITH SOME RAIN. SO IF YOU’RE TRAVELING JUST A HEADS UP, YOU COULD RUN INTO SOME DELAYS DEPENDING ON WHERE YOU’RE GOING. BUT FOR US, NOT LOOKING TOO TERRIBLE, THE BEGINNING OF DECEMBER THOUGH. LOOK AT THIS. I DID FIND SOME COLD AIR THAT IS COMING TOWARDS OUR DIRECTION. SO JUST GET PREPARED. IN THE MEANTIME, HERE’S A LOOK AT THE REST OF YOUR WDSU. FIRST WARNING SEVEN DAY FORECAST. WE DO DIP A LITTLE BIT FOR TOMORROW’S TEMPERATURES, AND THEN WE RISE BACK AGAIN FOR WEDNESDAY. GETTING INTO THURSDAY THOUGH, DON’T WORRY ABOUT THE HIGH. THAT’S NOT THE HIGHEST, NOT THE MAIN FOCUS FOR YOU WILL BE INTO THE MID SECONDS, BUT THE TEMPERATURE WILL BE DROPPING THROUGHOUT THE DAY. AND THEN FRIDAY 59 DEGREES FOR YOUR HIGH AND THEN 60 ON SATURDAY. IT’S GOING TO BE COLD. SO ALL THE FOLKS COMING IN TOWN FOR ALL THE EVENTS, GAMES AND WHATEVER, BE SURE TO HAVE TH

Get ready for a rollercoaster forecast this week

Updated: 7:34 AM CST Nov 25, 2024

We’re kicking off Thanksgiving Week on the warm side! Expect mostly sunny skies today with highs in the upper 70s to a few low 80s. Clouds will gradually increase throughout the day with light winds. As a weak cold front moves in overnight, we could see a few showers late Monday into Tuesday morning. Overnight lows only drop to the 60s. Once the weak cold front moves through, our high temperatures for Tuesday will be in the low 70s, so a slight decrease is expected compared to Monday. The rest of our Tuesday will be partly cloudy with light winds. Humidity will gradually rise. Wednesday will be muggier, partly cloudy, and highs will return to the upper 70s. There will be rain on Thanksgiving. As of now, it looks like the rain may arrive later in the morning, but more so for the afternoon and evening. It does not look like a washout. A front will push through. As it does, it will bring rain, wind, and cooler weather. Highs for Thursday will be in the mid 70s, but the temperature will drop during the day. After the front passes, highs Friday will only be in the upper 50s to low 60s. Those below average temperatures will stick around going into the weekend.
