Dany Boon dares to joke with Kendji Girac about his accidental shooting

Sunday, November 24, Kendji Girac was the guest of the fiftieth issue of the show “A Sunday in the Country” on 2, alongside Dany Boon. To lighten the atmosphere, the comedian dared to make a rather risky joke about the shooting that could have killed the singer last April.

It took him several months before returning to the forefront. Last April, Kendji Girac came close to death when he shot himself in the chest under the influence of drugs and alcohol. After a long period of convalescence and numerous questions, the interpreter of Gypsy Color made his comeback in October with the release of his new album symbolically titled Vivre !. Invited on this occasion on several sets, notably those of The Voice Kids and the Star AcademyKendji has not once returned to the tragedy that almost cost him his life.

“No selection for the Olympic Games in shooting”

Sunday, November 24, the 28-year-old singer reached the milestone during his appearance on the show A Sunday in the countrysideon France 2. He notably explained what he felt when his name made the front page of the celebrity and news sections, just after the tragedy. “I cut myself off a bit from everything, I didn’t see TV for a month, nor my phone,” he explained. “I really needed to take the time and recharge my batteries. The only The only thing I needed was my family, my wife, my family. Of course they were there for me at that time. It was simply love that rebuilt me. with incredible speed. The love of my family, of my loved ones, from those around me, even from the public. It feels weird, it’s the first time I’ve talked about it.”

Present around the table at the time of these very moving confessions, Dany Boon wanted to lighten the atmosphere by making a very risky joke: “Well, there will be no selection for the Olympic Games in shooting, so…” . And this little touch of humor came through! Frédéric Lopez and his guests, including Kendji Girac, exploded with laughter. “For 2028, it’s ruined, huh,” added Dany Boon. “Anyway, I don’t know how to shoot so it’s okay,” the singer replied with a lot of self-deprecation.
