The affair created a stir in the heart of summer 2024 in the Liserons district of Nice, which is prey to drug trafficking.
On August 22, in the middle of the afternoon, detonations rang out at Impasse des Liserons. A man has just shot an 18-year-old “charcoaler”.
The small cannabis dealer was seriously injured in the legs, riddled with 9 mm bullets.
A settling of scores between rival gangs? It wouldn't be the case. It would be revenge. The victim allegedly stabbed a maintenance worker a few hours earlier.
It is for these facts that the very young adult was referred to the Nice criminal court, as part of his immediate appearance, Thursday November 21.
He asked for more time to prepare his defense. President Alain Chemama, however, summarized the circumstances of the attack with which he is accused.
A reflection on cleanliness at the origin of the brawl
On August 22, at 5 a.m., a maintenance worker, responsible for cleaning the common areas of buildings in the Liserons district, started work.
He finds himself in the presence of a group of young people who run a deal point at the foot of the building.
The ground is littered with cigarette butts and cans. The agent points this out to them. “This is not a dump here.”.
An altercation breaks out, during which the agent receives a blow with a sharp object to the shoulder blade.
He escapes from the brawl, runs, with the young people chasing him, and signals the driver of a truck to stop.
The latter puts him on board and takes him to the firefighters. The agent is dizzy, he has lost a lot of blood. He was finally admitted to intensive care, but his life was not in danger.
“I didn’t want to kill him.”
“I didn’t want to kill him.”stammers, from the box, the one who denies having used a knife, and speaks of a “piece of glass”.
Which does not correspond to the doctor's findings. The young man, whose legs were riddled with bullets, claims to be feeling better, even if he admits to having “trouble walking”.
The prosecutor requests his placement under judicial supervision pending his trial set for January 20, 2025, considering that “the risk of reprisals is low. We are dealing with a defendant terrified by what happened to him next”.
“He has not appeared in Les Liserons since August 22, 2024. His life has completely changed”pleads his lawyer.
The young coal miner emerges free from the hearing, but prohibited from going to his old neighborhood.
