David Hubert happy after Anderlecht’s success against La Gantoise: “This victory makes me very happy but we must remain humble”

Anderlecht crushed La Gantoise 6 goals to 0 this Sunday evening. A very nice victory and a performance which greatly satisfied the Mauves coach David Hubert. “During the first 20 minutes, we had difficulty getting into the match, found the rhythm. This was also my fear after the 2-week break, to be able to find the rhythm before the break and not to wait 15-20 minutes before entering the match. Unfortunately this is what happened. But the first goal broke the deadlock in the match. After that, our level increased, the pace was higher, the tempo of ball circulation and aggression without the ball was much better after the first goal. The progression of the score is a logical continuation then,” explained the Belgian technician. “We knew he was going to put man-on-man pressure, so it took a lot of animation and movement to get free. It took a little time to know how to do it but then we knew how to seize our moments, make the right choices and convert our possession into clear chances,” he then analyzes.

Despite this great victory, David Hubert already has his eyes turned towards the match against Porto in the Europa League which will take place next Thursday. “This victory makes me very happy but it’s all a question of remaining very humble. Every match is important, we want success in every competition and from tomorrow we will be focused on Porto. We have a very busy schedule before the end of the year, we will obviously celebrate this victory but we must remain humble. And above all, try to continue to progress and grow, that’s what we’re doing for now.”
