Benoît Poelvoorde facing Dany Boon for a pure family comedy! – Cinema News

Every day, AlloCiné recommends a film to (re)watch on . Tonight: when Benoît Poelvoorde meets Dany Boon, it creates a shock pairing.

Three years after the enormous success of Bienvenue chez les Ch’tis (which still remains, today, the biggest French box office success with 20.4 million seats sold), Dany Boon signed a new family comedy: Nothing to declare.

Released in 2011, this feature film takes place in 1993, the date on which the transition to Europe led to the closure of fixed customs in the municipalities of Courquain, in , and Koorkin, in Belgium. Ruben Vandervoorde (Benoît Poelvoorde), a Francophobe from father to son and an overzealous Belgian customs officer, is forced to team up with French customs officer Mathias Ducatel (Dany Boon) who is none other than his lifelong enemy.

And as bad news never comes alone, Mathias does not know how to tell Ruben that he wants to marry his sister, Louise Vandervoorde (Julie Bernard) with whom he has been having a secret affair for a year…

In addition to the striking duo composed of Poelvoorde and Boon, we also find other well-known actors from the big screen, such as Karin Viard, François Damiens, and Nadège Beausson-Diagne.

A duo that sparks

And the least we can say is that it is difficult to move on after the success of Welcome to the Ch’tis. So, to successfully complete the challenge, Dany Boon sets the bar high, as he confided when he released Nothing to declare : “Above all, I put pressure on myself by telling myself that I must not disappoint.”

And it’s a great success, since the family comedy brought together eight million curious young and old people in cinemas. It must be said that all the ingredients are there to give you an excellent time of entertainment: a good dose of humor, comical situations, cult scenes (like that of the customs control), without forgetting an iconic duo.

Because the success of Nothing to declare is mainly due to the acting of Benoît Poelvoorde et Dany Boonas confirmed by the reviews published by AlloCiné Internet users: “The duo sparks and treats us to some funny scenes and hilarious lines”, “The actors are in tune”or even “An irresistible duo!”.

Tonight on TF1 at 9:10 p.m.
