A popular success! More than 8,000 participants took the start of the Saint-Nicolas races this November 24, 2024. With a brand new journey of 10km in the heart of Nancy. The runners were also able to benefit from the encouragement of the many supporters present.
Record participation and popular success
The start is given at 10:30 a.m. by Mathieu Klein. The mayor of Nancy pulls the trigger in the company of Saint-Nicolas. More than 8,000 participants then set off and poured into the streets of Nancy from Place Stanislas. This is a participation record.
On the edge of the route, hundreds of supporters are present to encourage the athletes. Some are in disguise, others have even made signs. Like Lison who finds the atmosphere incredible: “the atmosphere is really nice. We encourage everyone even if we don't know the people.”
“It’s a very demanding course”
On arrival, there is of course fatigue, but it is above all the smiles that light up the faces of the athletes. The new route is validated even if there are some difficulties. “It’s a very demanding course with quite a few climbs”says Mathilde, still out of breath.
A family race also took place after the race “big ones.” But whatever the outcome, all participants left with a gingerbread in the shape of Saint Nicholas.
