In a match interrupted 35 minutes into the first period after projectiles were thrown onto the pitch, and separated in a draw (0-0) which did not suit Merlus.

The Merlus had a golden opportunity. While FC was once again held in check earlier this Saturday, Lorient could seize first place in the Ligue 2 standings if they succeed in Bastia. However, Olivier Pantaloni's men were unable to get rid of an eye-catching Corsican team. From the first moments of the match, the Bretons put pressure on the rearguard but Johnny Placide was able to hold on. A new alert occurred shortly after the quarter of an hour of play with Arthur Avom who saw Zakaria Ariss intervene at the last minute then Darlin Yongwa miss the target on the second ball. As the half-hour mark approached, the Bastiais began to come out of their shell, Lisandru Tramoni tapping Yvon Mvogo with a right-footed shot on target. This match then changed tone with Jocelyn Janneh who left the SCB at ten after a tackle beyond the limit on Julien Ponceau. As tension rose on the pitch, it also happened in the stands.

Bastia held up despite everything

In fact, projectiles were sent onto the pitch at the height of one of the assistant referees. While Frédéric Antonetti intervened to try to calm things down, the game was interrupted for no less than 35 minutes. A break which did not change the situation since the Lorientais controlled the pace of the meeting. However, clumsiness was also on their side and the score did not change until half-time. From the restart, the scenario was the same with Merlus in control of the ball and Bastiais numerically inferior ready to counter at the slightest opportunity. A status quo which was maintained until the hour mark, which saw both benches open up to bring in fresh blood. 20 minutes from the end of regulation time, Johnny Placide once again saved his team against Joel Mvuka, who had been perfectly launched by Montassar Talbi. In added time, Anthony Roncaglia left Bastia two down after a late tackle on Aiyegun Tosin. Despite this last hard blow, the Corsicans held on and took the point of the draw which leaves them a small cushion compared to the red zone. The Lorientais, for their part, are not doing a good job at the end of this 14th day.
