The actor, member of the Comédie Française, plays the role of a conductor in the new film by Emmanuel Courcol.

Benjamin Lavernhe stars in the film ''En Fanfare'' by Emmanuel Courcol. The story of two brothers who are completely opposite. One, Thibault (played by Benjamin Lavernhe), who grew up in , is a famous conductor. The other, Jimmy (played by Pierre Lottin), who grew up in , works in a canteen and plays the trombone in a brass band. It's a bit of a culture clash between these two, but they will eventually become closer. They even have more in common than you might think, including a passionate love of .

To perform his role as conductor, the member of the Comédie Française received accelerated training: “A young chef, Antoine Dutaillis, coached me and we got to the essentials. For Benjamin Lavernhe, this film shows that music gives self-confidence, but not only: “Music creates social connections. It’s a collective outlet. It gives joy, even if it's imperfect. It's so joyful, even in the mess, because there are marching bands where it's not always ultra fair, but we don't care. In fact, what matters is to be very uninhibited, which does not prevent being demanding and to try to do your best. It feels so good, for example, to pick up a guitar or a piano and play, to start thinking about something else. So, we talk to our instrument, we play and it comforts us. He's like a friend, an instrument, I'm sure. »

In ''En Fanfare'', Benjamin Lavernhe's character doesn't know how to drive. In life, however, the actor loves it: “I have 22 years of driving license under my belt. I like the crossing. For example, I drove in Scotland. It's a memorable memory. We drive on the left, so it's super dangerous. But discovering a region like that is wonderful. I am so lucky to have the license. I have so many friends who don't have a license, and for whom it's a huge hassle! »
