Twenty-four hours after a fire, a body found in the rubble of a house in Carrouges

The Orne firefighters intervened on Friday November 22 to a violent fire which destroyed a house in the small village of Carrouges. The body of one of its occupants, reported missing, was found in the rubble twenty-four hours later.

Friday November 22, 2024, in the middle of the afternoon, a violent fire broke out in a house in the town of Carrouges, in Orne. Up to 52 firefighters from Carrouges and surrounding towns were mobilized to put out the flames.

The intervention at 9 rue du Docteur Louis Tremblin was still in progress this Saturday, November 23 in the morning. A first victim was transported in minor condition to the Ferté Macé hospital center.

The second occupant of the accommodation was missing and searches took place during the day this Saturday to find him.

Rescuers have since found parts of his body in the rubble, confirming his death. At this time, the identity of the victim could not be confirmed by France 3 Normandie.
