Sunny, breezy conditions over the weekend; rain possible for Thanksgiving

After the Baltimore area saw its first snowfall of the year on Friday morning, followed by a cold, wet and windy day, the rest of the weekend is expected to bring a mix of sunny skies and breezy conditions.

Saturday will begin mostly sunny with temperatures reaching a high near 53°F, according to the National Weather Service. Winds are forecast pick up from the northwest at 10 to 15 mph. By Saturday night, skies will become partly cloudy, and temperatures will dip to around 42°F. Winds will ease slightly, with gusts up to 10 to 15 mph.

On Sunday, expect more sunshine with a high near 58°F. Winds will remain the same at 10 to 15 mph. With the exception of a few passing clouds, the day will remain mostly sunny. The NWS predicts Sunday night will be partly cloudy, with temperatures cooling to around 43°F. Winds will remain light, providing a calm evening.

As Thanksgiving week begins, Monday is forecast to be mostly sunny with a high near 64°F. Monday night brings a 40% chance of showers after 1 a.m., with mostly cloudy skies and a low around 51°F. Tuesday is predicted to be mostly sunny, with a high near 62°F. Tuesday night will cool to around 35°F under partly cloudy skies.

The weather cools midweek, with Wednesday staying mostly sunny and temperatures reaching a high near 50°F. Wednesday night could bring some showers, with a 30% chance of precipitation and a low around 35°F.

Colder temperatures are expected on Thanksgiving, according to NWS. Thanksgiving Day looks mostly cloudy with a 50% chance of showers and  a high near 48°F, continuing into Thursday night with a low around 35°F.
