Christophe, train driver at SNCF, revealed his salary and his latest increases during an interview with BFMTV/RMC, Thursday November 21.

The subject of fantasies and even misunderstandings, the remuneration of SNCF train drivers regularly comes up in public debate, particularly when it comes to strikes and union mobilizations. While the management of the railway group recently proposed a 2.2% increase to striking railway workers, Christophe, a train driver, decided to lift the veil on his salary by revealing his income during an interview on BFMTV/ RMC.

“Between my bulletin for the month of October 2022 and that of 2024, I was increased by 100 euros,” laments Christophe, who did not participate in the strike on Thursday, November 21. And the railway worker clarified: “I received 3,960 euros net in October 2022 and 4,030 euros in October 2024”. A figure which, he recalls, includes bonuses and staggered working hours which are not taken into account in the calculation of his retirement. “Certainly, it is a comfortable salary, but it comes with a lot of responsibilities and special working conditions,” he added, deploring that recent increases are insufficient.
