There is everyone at home, there is my baby, my daughter, my daughter-in-law, my husband, my children sleeping in the basement, and in my sleep I hear knocks. Loud knocks on a door » recalls Vitaa, still shaken by this event: “ The window breaks, I am in my nightie in front of my dressing room door. My husband tells me to call the police. The guys open the door and the alarm goes off. (…) And there is a guy in front of me with a balaclava who raises his bat at me and yells at me: “Give me the money, give me the jewelry” ».

“It makes you hate being famous”

At this time equipped with hearing protection for sleep, Vitaa passes through all states. “ I had horrible thoughts. I said to myself “He's going to rape me”, I'm telling you the truth. I said to myself: “this is going to last a really long time” »Relates the singer in a trembling voice. While she redirects the thugs towards her property to protect her children, Vitaa sees her daughter-in-law in tears » : « I see her crying, I am shocked. Luckily, she managed to hide her phone. I call the police, I tell them that there is a burglary in progress, that they are kidnapping us “. With exemplary responsiveness, the authorities arrived on site “ in 4 minutes “. The thugs are caught in the act. “ They were arrested, they had everything on them. It could have been so much worse! Neither me nor my husband nor my daughter were hit. But the trauma started after that. Living with the fear of being woken up in the middle of the night, of putting nothing in your home, is still something » lists Vitaa, who speaks of “ one of the most trying and traumatic nights » of his life: “ It makes you hate being famous. I still have a 20 month old little girl who experienced a homejacking with a hooded guy on top of her. ».
