Author of a quality first period with 2 goals, the DFCO won a third consecutive success in the championship against FC Versailles (2-0) and moved to third place in the standings.
A frosty first evening, but hearts warmed by the sixth victory of the season, the third in a row in the championship! The Reds continued their positive series and climbed onto the National podium.
The evening couldn't have started better with an express opening score. After a first alert from Cédric Makutungu, whose center almost turned into a CSC for Mahop (3rd), it was Jovany Ikanga who cleared the scoreboard. On a long opening from Elydjah Mendy, Jovany Ikanga scores with a perfect cross shot (1-0, 8e). The Dijon striker confirms his current form and continues after scoring twice last weekend in the Coupe de France. Not satisfied, the Reds will continue to manhandle the Versaillais, but Hugo Vargas-Rios sees his shot captured by the goalkeeper (11th). The bellows subsides somewhat, and Versailles tries to take advantage of it, but will come across Paul Delecroix, author of a great performance, rewarded by a 7th clean sheet this season! During this first period of quality, the DFCO will make the break thanks to a winning combination. Jordan Marié serves Yanis Chahid behind, whose deflected shot deceives Sébastien Renot (2-0, 31e). This is the Dijon player's first achievement in National this season.
In the second half, FC Versailles put more foot on the ball and pushed the less dashing Dijonnais. Despite a few scares – a shot from Mendes diverted for a corner (54th) and especially a Samy Baghdadi who had eliminated the goalkeeper without managing to make it happen (57th) – Paul Delecroix and his team will resist. The Ile-de-France residents thought they had reduced the score, but Mendes was flagged offside (67th). The DFCO managed its advantage well and could even have ended the suspense. Served by Jules Meyer in the area, Alexandre Parsemain sees his shot stopped by the goalkeeper (85th), then he will not be able to resist the return of a defender to go one on one (92nd). Finally, after having scratched a ball 50 meters from the opposing goal, Jules Meyer attempted a long shot which ended up narrowly wide (93rd).
Logical winner, the DFCO confirms its current good form and moves into the top three! A success celebrated with the club’s employees. Enough to approach the 8th round of the Coupe de France next Friday on the Chambéry lawn (8:00 p.m.).
