– Christmas bonus: no extra bonus this year for single-parent families!
It’s a little financial boost that many families are waiting for. The Christmas bonus is a flat-rate aid intended for the most modest households, paid in one go, to beneficiaries of the active solidarity income (RSA), by the specific solidarity allowance (ASS) or the retirement equivalent allowance (AER). Likewise, people receiving the flat-rate bonus for returning to work, remuneration for France Travail training (RFFT) and remuneration for trainees from professional training/public internship remuneration (RSFP/RPS) are eligible.
This is not the case for households receiving the Disabled Adult Allowance (AAH) or the Activity Bonus. Last year, an additional boost was granted to single-parent families. A 35% increase for around 660,000 families. But according to information from TF1, confirmed by The Parisianthis year, this surcharge is no longer granted. To our colleagues, the office of the Minister of Solidarity, Autonomy and Equality between women and men, explains that this additional premium was “a budgetary effort last year, as part of an agreement with Parliament”.
Christmas bonus: what are the amounts paid this year?

A measure “exceptional” therefore which is not renewed, confirms the office of Paul Christophe at Parisianall in a context where the government is seeking to make budgetary savings in all areas. However, the firm says it maintains a net “interest” for single-parent families, citing for example the extension of the free choice of childcare supplement (CMG). However, single-parent families will receive the Christmas bonus, but its amount varies depending on the family composition.
THE 2,3 millions of households which had benefited from it in 2023 will receive between 152.45 euros for a single person without children and 535,10 euros for a mother or father with four dependent children. Note that 82.32 euros additional are granted per additional child. For their part, couples without children will receive 228.68 euros, while a couple with four children will receive 442.11 euros. The premium for each additional child this time amounts to 60.98 euros. All aid amounts can be found in the table of Capital.
