He had announced that he was in the grip of significant financial difficulties: the equipment manufacturer Le Coq Sportif placed in receivership

It has 330 employees and generates hundreds of indirect jobs.

Airesis, the parent company of Le Coq Sportif, announced this Friday, November 22 that the sports equipment manufacturer was placed in receivership by the commercial court, “with an observation period of six months on the principle of a continuity of operations”, according to a press release.

“Le Coq Sportif relies on this procedure to respond to the challenges facing the brand, while wanting to protect its 330 employees and hundreds of indirect jobs,” says Airesis.

Litigation and debts

At the end of October, the company announced that it was experiencing significant financial difficulties. She indicated that she had mandated “an investment bank to assist her in finding suitable financing solutions”.

And this, despite obtaining a loan of 2.9 million euros from the Paris 2024 organizing committee, as well as another of 12.5 million euros from the French State, for having equipped the French delegation during the Olympic Games in Paris, as recalled by L'Équipe.

Furthermore, a dispute opposes it to the French Federation. The latter assigned the equipment manufacturer to compulsory liquidation in September, for an unpaid amount of 5.3 million euros between 2018 and 2024. This procedure is the last resort in the event that the debtor proves to be completely insolvent.
