War in Ukraine: Putin orders new “tests” and mass production of the Orechnik hypersonic ballistic missile, already tested on Dnipro

Russia tested this experimental medium-range ballistic missile on Ukraine on Thursday morning.

Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered this Friday, November 22, to mass produce and continue combat testing the new Orechnik hypersonic ballistic missile, used Thursday to strike Ukraine.

“We will continue these tests, including in combat situations, depending on the situation and the nature of the threats to Russia's security,” he said during a meeting with military officials broadcast on television.

The conflict took a new turn after Ukraine used long-range American and British missiles on Tuesday and Wednesday to strike deep into Russian territory, a first in the conflict.

“Global” conflict?

On Thursday morning, Russia responded by firing a brand new “medium-range experimental ballistic missile” at the city of Dnipro. Vladimir Putin indicating on Thursday evening that the conflict was taking on “a global character”, rejoicing at the successful test of his new missile called Oreshnik. The latter is capable of carrying nuclear charges. However, he did not have one for this first shot, which can also be considered as a serious warning to Ukraine, the United States and Western countries.
