For us, budget cuts are a no-go!

6.5 billion euros. This is the amount that the Barnier government intends to eliminate at the expense of regions, departments and municipalities. All of these communities will be affected, it is therefore the populations who will bear the brunt of the repercussions of these decisions on the territories and the environment (fewer public services and impact on the ecological transition of the territories).

This XXL austerity cure is not justified because the financial means exist to meet all needs. It is enough to tax the richest, to attack tax fraud and the immense profits generated by large groups, multinationals…

The Mozarts of finance would be well advised to finally make these decisions to tax capital.

We recall that local authorities alone finance nearly 70% of public investment. By thus cutting off the investment capacity of our actions, essential public policies in our territories will be undermined with consequences for education, early childhood, youth, training, the elderly, health, employment, solidarity, housing, agriculture, everything that brings balance and development to our territories…

We do not accept that our policies are slashed in this way.

For our regions, our mobility offers or our education policies must not be called into question. No more than professional training or health and social training… We want to continue our support for the Social and Solidarity Economy sector (220,500 jobs in our region), whose economic vitality in the territories is a model of sustainability and social bond that we must preserve.

For our departments, our policies in favor of the elderly, disabled people, children and families and people in difficulty, colleges, fire safety, etc. must not be called into question.

For our municipalities, our skills in education must not be called into question: the material management of nursery and elementary schools, school canteens, media libraries, nurseries, but also CCAS, the management of green spaces, waste…

Not to mention that this will also be to the detriment of our public sector agents who are a real support for our public policies and without whom nothing would be possible.

We also do not accept that what constitutes development and solidarity in our territories are endangered by the drastic reductions that this illegitimate government wants to impose, such as access to health and education, youth, associative, cultural and sporting policies.

Furthermore, it is not acceptable that the free administration of our communities and our vital forces which operate the public service on a daily basis should be attacked in this way. We do not accept the return of practices from another time.

By signing this appeal, we are calling for an act of resistance to the disengagement of the State in territorial policies!
