Storms and Strong Winds in Lazio Region

Thunderstorms and strong winds. For today, November 22, a weather alert is forecasted throughout the Lazio region with particular attention to the Apennine areas, in the Apennines of Rieti, the Aniene basin, and the Liri basin, but isolated showers cannot be ruled out elsewhere.

The forecasts

Rainy morning, with lightning, thunder, and thunderstorms in Rome this Friday, November 22, 2024. However, in the late morning, the sky seems less threatening, and the return of the sun is not excluded, among some passing clouds. Strong winds are expected, especially in the first part of the day. Temperatures range between a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 18 degrees Celsius.

In the provinces

Thunderstorms and strong winds also in other provinces. The province of Rieti, for example, is under a yellow alert. Here, at the foot of the Apennines, temperatures range between 7 and 13 degrees Celsius, with the thermometer dropping below zero in the following days. In the capital of Tuscia, Viterbo, isolated showers but storm surges along the most exposed coasts cannot be ruled out. The thermometer ranges between a minimum of 7 degrees and a maximum of 14.

The temperatures

More persistent bad weather in the inland areas, even further south. From a minimum of 10 to a maximum of 15 degrees Celsius, the temperatures in Frosinone where the rain is persistent until early afternoon. From 11 to 17 degrees Celsius, instead, the temperatures in the Pontine capital, Latina, where rain is expected until early afternoon.

Fiumicino closes parks

The mayor of Fiumicino, Mario Baccini, has issued a special mayoral ordinance to arrange the closure of parks and municipal cemeteries today, November 22, 2024, and until the end of the bad weather emergency, due to the strong gusts of wind that have already forced the local police and civil protection to intervene in Via Torre del Pagliaccetto, Via Castel Campanile, and Via Crescini, where tree falls have been reported.
