Temperatures fell well below 0 degrees at daybreak: -4.1° in Saint-Léger Vauban at 6 a.m., -3.3° in Tonnerre, -4.4° in Noyers, -2.9° in Chablis. In a press release issued at 7 a.m., the Yonne prefecture indicated that “the frosts did not help traffic to resume smoothly this Friday morning”. And that “traffic difficulties are recorded throughout the department, although at this time there are no longer any blockages on the Icaunais roads (no axis cuts). Concerning public transport, Keolis indicates this Friday, mid-morning, a partial resumption on line 1: “all departures are assured between Clairions and the station, the rest of the Rive-Droite district is not yet passable .” An imminent resumption of line 4 and a full resumption of service is hoped for at the beginning of the afternoon.
No injuries, 80 firefighters interventions
Furthermore, several material accidents were recorded during the night, fortunately no injury accidents were reported. The Yonne firefighters, at 8:30 a.m., indicated that they had intervened 80 times since the start of the event on Thursday at 11 a.m., for 13 accidents and 64 clearances from public roads. These operations required the assistance of 313 firefighters. In addition, two people were injured on public roads due to falls. The Yonne prefecture adds that road treatment was carried out at the end of the night for the main network and was in progress, at 7 a.m., on the secondary network. Localized difficulties could nevertheless persist on the main network. Particular vigilance was recommended in the sectors of the A6, between Avallon and Nitry, on the RN 77 and the RN 151.
Nearly 3,000 Icaunese homes were without electricity Thursday evening at 10 p.m. This Friday morning, nearly 4,000 households are in difficulty, located in 30 municipalities in Yonne. Forty Enedis technicians from Yonne are mobilized, joined by five teams of service providers and around thirty technicians from Enedis Bourgogne. The company does not comment on the restoration time, but indicates that 90% of homes will be repowered within 48 hours.
