Five injured people were hospitalized in “absolute emergency” after a pileup on the A6b near Chevilly-Larue (Val-de-) which occurred Thursday evening around 11:20 p.m., franceinfo learned on Friday, November 22 from the Val prefecture -de-Marne.

The accident happened in the Paris-Province direction. It involved a bus, four cars and a motorcycle, Paris firefighters told Bleu Paris and franceinfo. 84 firefighters were involved in this intervention until 2:30 a.m. 24 machines were mobilized.

The investigation will have to determine the exact causes of this accident but it is “probably due to the slippery or even unstable road surface“, according to the Val-de-Marne prefecture. Storm Caetano crossed part of France during the night from Thursday to Friday. The Val-de-Marne department is on orange alert for “snow-ice”.

The bus involved in this accident belongs to the company BlablaCar. Contacted by France Bleu Paris, the company specifies that the vehicle was carrying 37 passengers. The bus left at 11 p.m. from the Bercy bus station in Paris. Another bus was chartered to reroute certain passengers to Paris.
