Orange snow-ice vigilance is maintained in northern Franche-Comté (Haute-Saône, Territoire de Belfort and Doubs) until 12 p.m. this Friday, November 22. 31 departments will still be placed on orange alert for snow, ice and wind, compared to around fifty on Thursday, Météo-France reported. There may be a “high risk of sliding phenomenon due to refreezing over a large part of the northern half of the country”, warned Météo-France, cited by AFP.
“During the night from Thursday to Friday, minimum temperatures will be between -1 and -7°C depending on cloud cover, or locally up to -8 and -9°C,” indicates the Haute-Saône prefecture in its press release. To add: “The conjunction of this cold episode with the heavy snowfall of the day is likely to generate, during the night from Thursday to Friday and then in the morning, dangerous road phenomena, which call for the greatest vigilance. »
In Haut-Rhin, announces AFP, no school bus. In the Territoire de Belfort, special reception areas are provided in schools and people are invited to avoid taking the road in case of risks.
In the event of a frozen or icy road:
- I keep myself informed with the authorities
- I limit or postpone my travels (including daily travel)
- I clear snow from my sidewalk by adding salt in front of my home
