Will active solidarity income (RSA) recipients from the Ain department be deprived of their allowance from January 1, 2025? The Department of Ain threatens, like 70 other departments: to suspend its payment from January to put pressure on the government which is asking the departmental councils for savings measures.

Members of the group of departments of the right, the center and the independents threatened to no longer pay the RSA from January 1 if the government did not review its text of the 2025 budget.

A large part of the departments of the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region are concerned, such as the Rhône for example.

“Suspend their payments” of RSA to family allowance funds

From January 1, all departments of the right and center will “suspend their payments” of RSA to family allowance funds. And “we will no longer take care of new unaccompanied minors because it is migration policy”, announced last week Nicolas Lacroix (LR), president of Haute-, first to launch the threat.

In the sights of the departments: the savings requested by the State from communities as part of the 2025 budget, under debate in Parliament for several weeks.

More than 12,000 beneficiaries in Ain

In Ain, a little more than 7,000 homes are beneficiaries of the RSA, i.e. more than 12,000 people.

From January 1, 2025, and this is new, recipients of the RSA of Ain will have to carry out 15 hours of volunteering per week in exchange for their allowance. They will also be automatically registered with Travail and will benefit from comprehensive support which should ensure their rapid return to employment.
